Spreading the science around
In the Open Science session of the Science Blogging Conference, Bill Hooker pointed out that not everything needs to be online. In some countries, such as Thailand, people don't have Internet access but they do have DVD players. New contents of PLOS one could be burned onto DVDs and sent by mail.Labels: communication, science, scienceblogging.com

That wasn't my insight, but unfortunately I cannot remember who did come up with it. It was one of the people who actually work in a developing nation, who could speak from direct experience about what kinds of technologies the locals did and did not have.
